The post of governor is used to employ the veteran or vanquished leades of ruling circles and also to rward the retird bureaucrats. This is common. But what is alrming is move to appoint the retired Chief Justice of supreme court as Kerala governor.

Chief Justice of supreme court is a very prestigious post. The apex court deals with disputes at highest levels. even the dispute between center and state is heard and decided by apex court. Keeping this view, it is highly improper to appoint rtired Chief Justice of supreme Court as a governor.

The usual distorted and double view of Congress party since retired judges have been appointed as Governors earlier and the opinion given is that of Oomen Chandy another one of those sychopants of Sonia Gandhi clan, what better can one expect?

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Appoitment of judges as governors is okay. But this does not seem right for Chief Justice of India, which is highest judicial post. Tis is realy degrading for the ex chief justice of India.

From what I perceive he does not seem to think it is degrading and he is quite prepared and happy to accept it , so where is the probelm except being created by people who want to criticise every step taken by the BJP government.

Retired from CJI of India, similarly, in this nationalist government at the center there are retired army chief, retired police chief of states, and so on what is wrong with it, as post of Governor is advisory in nature,

He may be happy with the appointment. These days, many are more money conscious than status conscious. Governor's post will give him financial and other benefits even after retirement. So he may accept that. Sometimes, a person retired from a higher post accepts a lower post vacant on ad hoc basis without considering status. This appears odd and so the comment. This has nothing to do with who rules at the center. This is more about the CJI accepting Governor's post.

It is not right to accuse a person of such high stature as you yourself mentioned, of being greedy...This is the problem, anything and any accusation is made of others just to prove a point . BJP is the ruling party and there are enough legal advisors and others who would advise them what is right like it was during UPA time when they just did what they wanted, so why question now ? when the person being appointed comes from an elite background? Are they feeling jealous that they dint think of doing this ? looks more like it..

Everything is right legally. But is this not degrading to work as governor when you have bee CJI. Personally, I will not accepte even the post of supervisor which is lower tha the post I retired from. This I learnt from my father. He used to ridicule the persons who rtired as gazetted officer but accepted lower lob in private. However this is just persoal matter. If somebody is happy in degradation, let him be. again this has nothing to do with who rules at Delhi.

He is retired CJI of India and it is expected of him to have sufficient knowledge about interstate relationship and it is constitutional.
