there was a confusion on passport for unwed mothers' kids. It was held that the unwed mother had to declare that she had not been raped. Now it is clarified that simple birth certificate is all that is needed.

Human beings are complex and so in the law. Thanks to the law makers that the law and rules have been in favor of the unwed mother in question and will benefit the unwed mothers in the future.

For sake of equity, unwed mothers and unwed fathers should be treated alike.

But we hardly get to hear this term unwed fathers...i haven't come across any neither in reality nor in fiction or news. But if they exists certainly rule and law should be equal.

A thoughtful decision made by the Ministry of External Affairs that results in very simple procedure to prove the motherhood of unmarried women, eliminating all sorts of headaches and tensions.

Haven't you heard about ND Tiwari the former congress chief minister of UP. He accepted he was father of a son after DNA Test on instructions from a court?

To be honest, I wasn't aware about N.D. Tiwari. But the fact that he accepted his son after performing DNA test and court order says it all. Unwed fathers do not publicly accept their fatherhood. Thanks for bringing to my notice that unwed fathers do exist.

Haven't you heard about actress Rekha and her father Gemini Ganeshan that he did not acknowledge his paternity during her childhood. Later I think Rekha refused to accept him as her father despite his acceptance.
