Veena malik and TV channel oficial have been sentenced to 26 years jail just because some felt that the show was blasphemous. Certainly such religios fundamentalism can lead to tyranny and illogic.  We may also face such situation if the saffron fundamentalism is not checked.

Yes indeed.  The fundamentalism, sought to be promoted by the BJP and RSS is very dangerous and can destroy the secular fabric of the nation.  It is futile to think that we can live in a country, where Hindus will be safe.

Development is the answer.  If we concentrate on only development, the guys who try to promote fundamentalism, will simply vanish from the scene.  We ought to do this.

There was no religion related talk in political circles until Gandhi and Nehru decided to divided this country on religious basis. When pakistan and Bangladesh came into existence the feeling of majority Hindus was India was for them.

At the time of division both Pakistan and Bangladesh had more than 20% Hindus today the percentage is almost nil and the ones living in those two countries are paying a heavy price for that.  Rest of them either killed or forced to flee. Am I right Gulshan Sir?

Very true, development is the answer and that's what BJP is trying to do and as a result you can see the fake secularism of congress is vanishing as expected.

I agree. Theology never unites. This is tyrannical to the minorities and ultimately to right thinking rationalists as well. I feel that if Jinnah had not died natural death, he would also have been killed lik Mujibur Rehman. Father of nation in India and Bangladesh were killed. Jinnah would also have bee killed if not naturally died so soon.

Sorry but Jinnah was mastermind of division of India. He wanted to become first PM and so was the case with Nehru so Gandhi agreed to divide this nation in to 2 in fact three and there could be many more if not for the wisdom of Patel at right time. Gandhi always said division on my dead body- then Nehru and Jinnah both were the prime reason of division and the death of Gandhi. Finding a fanatic like Godse is not difficult among millions of opponents of division in the name of religion.

As a matter of fact, Patel had accepted partition even before Gandhi and Nehru. He held that partition is inevitable and said that let Jinnah develop Pakistan and congress India. No doubt, Patel was key person in unification of princely states but he also accepted Pakistan- even before Nehru.

It is difficult to say who actually was responsible for the partition since there are many conflicting views, however, it was Gandhi - Nehru combine that was in a way responsible for the partition according to this article ,,

Usha manohar- Please do not forget to press enter key after inserting a link. The link was not working. So i edited the post and pressed enter key after the lin, which now works.  As regards the issue of partition, it is true that no single person is responsible for that. also views may differ.

Not only that.  They have started interfering in the lives of youth all over the country, in the name of protecting the culture of the country.  Culture is a very diverse thing and no one can say that they would need to protect it.

We should try to stop the cultural police movement as well, as it will lead to more undesirable consequences.  Today, we already have live in relationships.  The youth seem to be very mature and most know what to do.

Let us stop this religious fundamentalism in every possible way.

Religious fundamentalism and communal fascist attitude of saffron block gets revealed again and again. Modi has advised his partymen to restrain themselves in speech. However, how can the vemon lying in minds of the saffron brigade be concealed for long. Tongue follows the mind.
