Crucifix is Christian symbol. How funny that a crucifix with Communist symbol of Hammer and sickle is presented to pope.

But The Vatican and Bolivia both insist no offense was intended or taken when President Evo Morales gave Pope Francis a "Communist crucifix" as gift during his visit to this South American nation.

No offfence.  The paradox is that Communists are atheists and anti religion. Crucifix is Christian religious symbol. Combining Communist hammer & sickle symbol and Crucifix is paradoxical and bizarre.

Of course, it's paradoxical, I agree. But if the taker that is the church is willing to accept, it certainly looks bizarre.

I guess they were trying to prove a point going by the words of Bolivia's Communication minister and I am sure that Pope will take it in the right spirit since he seems very wise and broad minded ...

Bolivia's communications minister, Marianela Paco, defended the gift as symbolic: "The sickle evokes the peasant, the hammer the carpenter, representing humble workers, God's people."

"That was the intention of this gift, there was no other," she told Radio Patria Nueva.

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

In this regard there is no confusion at all.

Bolivia's government said the gift wasn't a political maneuver of any sort, but rather a symbol that Morales thought the "pope of the poor" would appreciate.
