I feel as long as people remain uneducated these problems will continue to hamper our society, development.Proper education and the awareness are the only solutions I see to break this vicious circle.
Religious superstitions are deep rooted in minds of people. To change them is very very difficult.

Caste marks do not, in fact, exist. The caste system, of course, does but the concept has been grossly degraded by 19th century colonialist historians who saw only its surface rigidities and made sweeping generalizations, (condemnatory for the most part), based on too little knowledge and even less experience. It is however ironic, that they never saw the parallels with the European system of guilds that divided artisans into separate social and economic entities on the basis of their specialization and sub-specializations.

:)

First there should be no column for caste in any of the certificates.....

Not only the poor, the rich are also superstitious. In fact, the astrologers and similar other pseudo experts misguide the rich more. The ambanis were made to spend huge amount on Mritunjaya Yagna for well being of their ailing father- Dhirubhai ambani. The rich are persuaded to spend huge amount on Janma Kundli etc and other such fake activities. The money earned by the rich goes substantially to pandits, astrologers, palmists, vastu shastri etc.

There are many sections in our society who live on superstitious beliefs and religious orthodoxy. The so called sadhus, pandits, priests, astrologers, palmists, beggars, vastu shastris etc. have a vested interest. The exploiting classes also depend on these forces to dupe the exploited working class.
