The corporations are business establishment run for profit motive. The efficiency of the business executives is measured by their revenue earning capacity. In fact, the economy works on the principle that everyone works for his own self interest. If we all attempt to gain the maximum by using our strength and skills without harming others and abiding by law, the whole society will gain. This is the underlying principle of free market economy.

It is true that money-making and profit maximization are central to corporate scheme of things but the concept of corporate responsibilty in relation to societal objectives has taken very firm roots in the corporate board rooms and continuous disregard of soical and environmental issues would threaten capitalism and whatever it stands for!

Corporates are there only to ensure profit, but "within law and ethics" has to be stressed, especially in the light of the recent Rin-tide controversial ad, where Rin displays unethical marketing practices.

You have rightly emphasised the legal and ehical aspects of business.I remember there were several such cases before MRTP Commission of ad malpractices resorted to by the big MNCs which are completely at odds with the principles of fair competition.
