There is no Holi in South India especially In places which are cosmopolitan in my state AP, because of the presence of people from northern states and other states where Holi is celebrated, we see people celebrating Holi. They exchange simple Gulal. Not more than that. And I for one never celebrate holi at all.
Now people play Holi less than before and also do not use chemical colors. But still those who go interiors of Mathura Vrindavan or Agra need be more cautious.

Nice tips for all of us. Hopefully this holi will be fruitful and joyous. I feel the concern of skin comes first when we use colours on our face and body. I would suggest to use good quality colours. Avoid playing with the guys who use harmful elements in the colours. Close your eyes while playing with the colours. Eye protection is equally important for us.

Yes, people are realizing the hazards of metallic and chemical colors
We use oil on our body before playing holi colors, so that we can easily remove the color later on.. Good tips.

A good idea, but there are some synthetic colors which can't be removed easily.

That's true Rambabu.. That's why we don't use such hard colors, only pure Gulal. But unfortunately my friends and few other relatives don't listen to me and they use those chemical colors too....... As it is holi, NO ESCAPE. :pinch:

We can make Gulal from herbs, flowers and fruits.
