Speaking very loud on phone is very common. This also helps the neighbor to know you better. He has to listen to you even though you talk to others on phone. He will know about sickness in your family, likely visit of some guest even though you don't mean to tell him. Once my neighbor was shouting on phone that he had no water even to take bath. He did not tell me but I helped him by giving him a few buckets of water.
