That's what the Apex court opined, particularly in Dowry cases and suggested a few remedies. But in general, when it comes to abusing the law, why only women? Men are not lagging behind.

Ideally we shd not be having laws made based on gender, but it is so all over the world and as for misusing a certain facility, I guess everyone does it when they are either harassed in some other ay or simply because it is there as a tool to be used !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Laws which are made with a bias assumption or as a reaction to an event are made in a hurry and these are subject to misuse. Both dowry and anti rape laws are reported to be misused by scheming and clever women. laws should be gender neutral.

Yes, some women do misuse law and because of these handful of women, the women who are actually in trouble do not get justice.

In a recent observation by the Apex court, , the instances of women abusing the anti dowry law are rampant. Owing to this, the court made a few amendments.

Recently there was a news item which said that many a time when relations in love go sour the girl accuses the boy of rape spread over a large period of time. Law is being negatively used to harass and take revenge. At the risk of being understood negatively I venture to say that it was because of such reason that Mulayam Singh said death sentence should not be given to a rapist.

Very true..but what can the victim do if proofs and evidences are tampered with before going to the court. In any case, it has become difficult for people to get justice, all because people misuse it. We can do nothing about it can we?

With increasing awareness, speedier trials, better investigation methods, higher gender sensitization of police and more victims coming forward chances of getting justice are far more today than before. When trials are dragged for years then witnesses and evidence gets diluted.
