I was shaken to my roots when I read the heart-rending tale of a footballer who represented at the State level but could not find a job to sustain hismself and his family. And now he is thinking of selling off one of his kidneys for money! Just think of the average lot of a cricketer who represents any state side in Ranji Trophy and earns a match fee of more than a lakh.Is our so-called love for sports and games cricket-centric?

others games should also be encouraged and should give equal support to all the players
I have nothing against cricket as such but what I find rather odd is our lop-sidededness.If we are to get anywhere in the sporting map of the world there should be a balanced approach.
i love cricket so i prefer cricket any way other games should also get importance

Yes.You are right.Cricket is getting too much importance. Now even our national game Hockey is less attractive. Its all decided by spectators.!
The popularity of cricket is understood. But the government should take care of all sports. any person giving outstanding performance in any sports or arts or any useful pursuit must be adequately looked after.

When any games is compared to cricket they all will be diminished India's cricket board BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world and its turn over is even greater than the ICC and very good examp0le is Our national game hockey players were not given their salary and they all went on a strike before the Hockey world cup and this shows how the crazy for cricket in India has caused the problems for the other sports........
