His saying, "Earth provides us enough for our needs, but not for our greed." is extremely apt today, especially in these days of rampant environmental abuse.

Mahatma Gandhi no doubt gave very original ideas. Non violence, simplicity, respect for manual labor are somne good features. He also advanced the Trusteeship theory according to which the industrialists should consider themselves just as trusee of the huge wealth they hold. Mahatma Gandhi considered that possessing more than what you need is theft. 

No Doubt, there is no other person even near to Gandhiji's stature.
