A 2009 batch IAS officer, Raja Murugan, 26, from Chennai was found dead, hanging from a tree outside his house in the Union Territory of Daman on Monday, Sep 20.

Buzz up!
While the police are clamining that he committed suicide, his cousin Sridhar K said, "Murugan was a bold and straightforward man and had no reason to commit suicide."

The body of Murugan was spotted by his neighbours at 1:30 am. Police sources said his wife Sangita had recently come to stay with him. The officer ended his life when she went out of the house for a brief period after a fight.

A chair was found below the tree from which the body was hanging. "Primarily, it seems family problems may be the reason for the suicide," said R P Mina, chief of police, Daman.

Being an IAS officer why he should take a decision so cowardly?
Is this happened in chennai? Nagalakshmi where did you get this info?
Though it looks like family problem, he is not a normal person to act cowardly...some responsibility is there in his hands.. :(
I think investagation should be done..
That's right,Rajani! It calls for a probe to arrive at the truth!
Let him be an IAS officer, but at last he is a human at heart...

What do we know, what conditions were bothering him....

But he shouldn't have commited suicide....
There are circumstances when a person gets so obsessed with his problems and develop a pessimistc mindset that creates an ideal situation for suicide- it's a very big psychological disorder.
sajeetharan, I read the news from TOI and other website.I could not recollect the name of it. :(
