singular and plural
in Improving English Writing Skills
Normally, we add 's' or 'es' to a singular word to make this plural. This does not work with certain words.

The examples are knife, wife, life. These all end with 'fe'.

The plurals are:

Singular Plural

Knife Knives
Wife wives
life lives

I have edited one post and changed 'lifes' to 'lives'.

    Yes,similarly,for Thief the plural is Thieves,and not written as thiefs.
