    Legend is one who will be remembered and honored even long after his death. So Bhagat Singh is a legend but he is not a celebrity. Celebrity is a person currently alive and is famous and respected or loved by large number of people.

    The only test in differentiating the two is permanence of fame! A legend stays in our memory for an indefinite period of time! Some of our present celebraties may graduate into legends and some be forgotten in a few years' time!
