A railway Committee has recommended that only dry vegetables be served and spicy and curry vegetables not be served. This is for better preservation and service. The committee views that railway passengers can do without tasty and delicious food for one or two days. if not, they may bring their own food to train. What are views of our members.

The food quality on indian railways whether it is in pantry cars or on the plat forms, is very poor and unhygienic. If you are consuming such food means you are inviting diseaes without any invitation card.

Moreover you are filling you belly with germs and bacteria without any extra cost.

We know that how the hawkers carry eatables in the open trays and keep moving compartment to compartments crossing a number of toilets. These railway toilets are the permanent place of dirt.

Yes. i have also experienced this. It may be better to carry own cooked food or live on bread, butter and biscuits during train journey. One may also take boiled eggs if he prefers.

It is always better to avoid non-vegetarian and spicy food while traveling. If by some reason we fall ill, it will be very difficult to manage. Now the best thing to do is to pack food from home. But for long journey we have to depend on railway food.In that case i welcome this recommendation.
It is true that train food is unhygenic and an invitation to germs. In general it is better to take food from home or eat some lite food like bread and Jam or biscuits if it is a matter of one day. I also feel that most of the hunger will die when you are moving and even if you eat lite it will stay for long time. Fruits are also better to eat during journeys and it is good to know that railway is taking such a good decision :)
I agree KP. Rao. Home food and dry food like biscuits is okay. Boiled eggs is also okay for those who eat.
