Recently, Kanu Sanyal, a veteran communist and founder of Naxalism was found dead in mysterious circumstances. He was a member and leader of Communist party of India. Later he joined CPI(M) on split. He even quit CPM and founded Naxalism group. It appears that he later even disagreed with other maoists and wanted to participate in elections.
Whatever be the differences in views, the fact remains that he lived a very simple life and in his last days he was alone living in a hut and suffering from many ailments. He was too old.
It is disgusting that the communist leaders including CPM, CPI and others totally ignored him and let him die in such way. In spite of not agreeing to his views, the communists who are ruling in three states in India, should not have allowed him to rot and die in such manner. As he was self respecting, he would definitely not beg the west Bengal Government for getting him treatment. If he wished and compromised, he could also live in luxury like other leaders.
while totally disagreeing with the 'Bullet' ideology of kanu Sanyal, I think, he has not been given proper treatment due to him.

Sorry Gulshan for responding to this thread late.As you have very rightly pointed out he was a communist leader who could be called a true maverick. He never strayed from his chosen path and led a spartan life and died a broken and highly disillusioned communist. He was not a communist leader of a synthetic variety! Now we have communists who spend their vacations in Europe, befriend promoters and realtors to line their pockets and pretend to champion the cause of the poor and the down-trodden without ever going through the experience of poverty!
Thanks chinmoymukherjee for responding. You have correctly stated that most communist leaders only pay lip sympathy to cause of poor. Some poet had rightly written- "Ranj bahut hai Leader Ko, Magar araam ke sath. Leten Hai dinner Hukkam Ke Sath'. meaning that "The leader is very serious but with comfort, He takes dinner with rulers.' Whatever be the differences, it is ironical that in a state ruled by Communists, the veteran communist died in such pathetic conditions.

The communists believe in class struggle and the Indianin communist parties have created sub-classes in their own ranks!
This is to be read in connection with the death of Mr.VaradaRajan another communist leader who died(???) days ago.

Abid- I did not read news of death of Varada Rajan. I do not know whether he died naturally or was sick. When a prominent leader meets callous attitude just due to his views, this is bad.

CPI is consider himself as party of labor classes.but, it cannot take care of their own people who helped them to stand up . :(
Bhanu- you have very nicely expressed the issue. kanu Sanyal was a dedicated communist and he lived in a small hut. He died of multiple diseases in old age. Proper medical treatment is right of every citizen. The miserable death of Kanu sanyal is blot on West Bengal government and communist leaders.
