According to W.B. C.M., her state is not getting adequate share of revenue collected by center and hence she would not let center collect revenue.

she may be morally and otherwise correct. But how will she stop center from collecting taxes. The assessees- Income tax as well as central excise/ service tax are legally bound to pay the tax and central government is entitled to collect these. Will she stop the center from collecting tax in her capacity as C.M.? Or she will use lawlessness of her political party. any way, this will be unconstitutional. Does she know what she says?

I think she is yet to learn the art and craft of governance. Never forget that her predecessor Left Front Government made so much noises which stank to high heavens - even forced umpteen number of bandhs on Centre's so-called step-motherly treatment!!!

Left front may be dictatorial and undemocratic but they were mature enough not to act childish by saying ' Shall i beat the Prime Minister' or 'we shall not let center collect tax from the state'. There is a proverb that as clever enemy is better than a foolish friend.

I,as a neutral observer, don't consider it to be at all proper to hold anyone's brief and that too involving a person who is prone to such immature outbursts. Here again I would like to stress what the West Bengal Governor has said in this context who just dismissed the issue saying that she might have uttered those in jest. Now coming to maturity and immaturity of Left leaders, who attacked a High Court judge coining this ' Amitava Lala, Bangla theke Pala' Amitava Lala, Get Lost from Bengal' when that judge gave a well-reasoned verdict imposing some restrictions on their endless processions on working days paralysing normal life in the city??? Who coined 'Goli Goli me shor hai - Indira Bibi Chor hai' with crude graffiti depicting Indira Gandhi as a witch on the walls of Benga???? Is it less than beating a PM?? Who resorted to such crude ways of picking on the physical deficiency of political opponents by giving a nickname to a veteran and venerable Congress leader late Atulya Ghopsh as 'Kana Atulya' - 'One-eyed Atulya'!
I fail to understand if the parties who do not like working methods of central government keep continuing their support. The best way to show their disagreement is to come out of the coalition rather than playing double games. That will settle it once for ever.

She can't stop central government from collecting tax. Central will find out solution to this problem soon.
As a responsible citizen, everyone needs to think on what will happen if every Chief Minister thinks the same way, how central government will get money to implement welfare schemes.Taxes are the major source of income for the nation.

Born to express, not to impress.

What is Centre without the states. We have elaborate Constitutional mechanisms to resolve the issue. Ours is supposedly a federal structure with a bias in favor of the Centre. That is the reason on the demands of various political parties a commission headed by Justice Sarkaria was formed which made several pragmatic recommendation some of which are yet to be given effect to. What I utterly dislike and disapprove is the manner in which she has been agitating this issue. She may have a just cause but the means she has been adopting are very undignified. But you know, politicians have their own compulsions and given to the fact that Panchayat elections are round the corner in the state, her tactics which I would describe rather cheap - are fairly evident!!
