Institute for Economics and Peace(IEP) has announced Most peaceful countries in the world.
New Zealand with a score of 1.188 has topped the list for 2010. The top 5 countries are New Zealand, Iceland , Japan, Austria & Norway.
According to (IEP) Iraq with a score of 3.406 is on the bottom of the list. Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, Sudan and Pakistan are the least peaceful countries of the world.

India has scored a low 128 out of 149 in the 2010 Global Peace Index (GPI). With an overall score of 2,516 points, India is a sandwich between Thailand (127) and Philippines (129). India's rank has been low ever since the rankings were launched. India's rankings were 109/ 121 countries (2007) 107/ 140 countries (2008) and 122/ 144 countries (2009).

This is nice information. Apparently, most peaceful are the small countries consisting of one ethnic race only and free from intervention of super powers.

Quite expected. Some recent surveys tell, Kerala as the most peaceful state in India. What else you expect then, from the rest of the states, and therefore, the nation as such !
The level of violence we have been witnessing these days throughout the country is very disturbing.One or two states might be a few islands of peace.
No wonder,
India is at 134th rank in HDI(Human Development Index).

Pakistan is always below us. good news for us.
You are absolutely correct,Sajeetharan as these two have a logical correlation.Unless we have peace and stability the cause of our development development would always suffer.
ofcourse NZ is the most peaceful and lovely country
one thing is sure that most of the small country are most peaceful ones
