With some incidents of harsh punishments meted out to children apparently weighing heavy on his mind, Prime
Minister Manmohan Singh today said the school environment should be 'free from fear, trauma and anxiety' to make the Right to Education (RTE) a grand national movement.

Good news abid,

In recent times teachers taking more advantage, good move by prime minister!I personally know some of my fellow mates, who left school (and some schooling itself)just because of the ill-treatment they experienced from our own beloved teachers.
I think some recent news from schools had opened the eyes of PM also.

Our Prime Minister is right on this issue.Even I have seen many schools in chennai who tax the students for studying well and scoring good marks. They will not be allowed to participate in any extra curricular activities.
Fear is some thing which rather discourages one to learn and it is heartening to note that a very big awareness campaign is on throughout the country in this regard.
That is certainly a good news as lot of stress is faced by today's children..Thanks for sharing the news.. :) :) :)
Children should be allowed to express their thoughts. Schools must not be like jails and teachers should not be like jail wardens.
A good teacher is one who is able to strike the right chord amongst the students. It's the poor ones who use fear as an instrument to gain acceptability.
