Hello Friends,

On clicking 'Forum' button we find various sub heads of forum; because of this the visitors are not directly exposed to the forum threads posted on these pages. The subheads links might confuse then as to... "what to do?"

On opening forum section the first thing that could attract attention of the visitor will be direct index to the threads that have been posted. By finding the threads they will start participating in those threads.

Right now there might be dozens of threads that have not been approached / attended to by the members / visitors.

My suggestions are as follows:

1. On clicking 'Forums' button... the index of all the threads should appear on the screen

2. Subsequently, the visitor may be given choice to segregated / navigate through sub-section links to a particular type of threads

Do you mean to present Recent Discussions page upon landing on Forums page?

Ya, what the harish meant is that.
Its also a nice suggestion.
It will be good for new members to stay active with forums.

Well, initially we used to land on recent discussions page only. But members always have a look at the new ones and they never look into the older threads which contain the information they are looking for. Hence we moved to the categories page.

If many of us feel that the landing page should be changed to recent discussions, we can reconsider the option.

Hello Maverick,

Hey you have done it . Just few moments back I clicked 'Forum' and all the recent discussion threads appeared. I was just excited to find it right in front of my eyes. Yes, I did mean this very thing by 'Index' as I mentioned.

Members are the deciding factors of all features on boddunan. Most of the features introduced on boddunan are based on the feedback from the members :)

Talking about discussions, the polls submitted have an amazing number of spelling mistakes in them. Do you think some thing can be done in terms of spell checking?

They should be taken care by the members. We are encouraging members to use Firefox and other browsers which are having in built spell checkers but the final decision is taken by the member.

Can another member who spots the mistakes correct them somehow?
It really jars in some cases!

Hello Cashmere Lashkari,

Some of the members are youngsters studying in schools and colleges. Some might not have emerged from English medium; that is why they commit many mistakes in spelling and grammar and tey do not follow any style in writing.

Hello Cashmere Lashkari,

I think we may ignore those mistakes and encourage the youngsters to write more and more and improve in the time to come. We may also send personal messages if we feel so.
