Users may have multiple reasons behind formatting operating system on their computer. The most common problem is they do format when their pc is working not properly because of virus or some other problem. These days formatting operating system of any pc is surely not a big deal. It is old thing when people were calling some experts for formatting their computer system. These days even kids are doing it at home by their self when they get some problem on their pc. So now it is an easy task, no need to be an expert.
But still one should keep in mind few basic and technical things in mind during formatting their computer system. There are few confusing things related to it and it can confuse the newbie during this process. Some people also have few confusion and rumors about the formatting stuff. Backup your data- How to backup? : Let me tell you if you have partition on your computer system then you can backup your important data like photos, music, videos, etc. on the same computer. Because you only need to format one partition on which your computer OS installed, so data on your other drive is safe. So just put those data on other drive on which your OS is not installed and it is safe. The best place to save your data is on internet on some reliable site. Even if your hard disk or CD damaged because of some reason, your data on internet is very safe. So internet is the safest place to store your data if your data is not too large. Of course you have other alternatives too like storing your data on some flash drive or CD. So first thing related to formatting the pc is to safe your data first.
Make sure you have all drivers of your system: Formatting any operating system means you are removing whole OS and installing it again. So obviously all programs and software will be remove with it and you have to install them again with fresh OS installation. That means you have to install your hardware drivers too. So if you are missing them then it may possible that you have no sound, no wifi or other problems because of missing drivers. So drivers are important thing and make sure you arrange it before formatting your system.
How to install or get drivers if you are not having source? : Suppose you have formatted your computer and now you are not having any source for drivers, then you can take help of internet. You can go on manufactured site of your system. Most of those kinds of sites have such drivers for their product. So you can install drivers for your system from there. Other alternative is that there are some special softwares available in the market using it you can install drivers on almost all pc and operating system. Such softwares are having universal drivers with them and they can automatically detect that which drivers are missing on your system and can installed them directly. So this is the best and easy alternative to keep it with us for future problems related to formatting.
Booting order during installation: When you are installing Operating System through OS disk then you should know that in CMOS setting your CD drive should be in proper booting order. If it is not then it may not boot your CD drive during booting process and you will not able to start the installation process. So during booting process if you can’t boot your installation disk then this can be one of the reasons behind it. So make sure that in CMOS setting your CD Drive is in proper booting order.
Formatting may not remove your data: Many people think that their whole data will be erased during this formatting system. Well I have already told you that if you have partitions on your computer system then you don’t need to format all partitions. Just format the partition which is carrying the OS and it will only remove data from that drive. Data on other drives will be safe. So if you also having this concern then don’t worry your data on your other drives are safe. So formatting stuff may not remove your whole data. Just make sure to backup your data on other drive and you are fine with your important data.
Make sure which drive to format: Sometime you may find different order of drives during installation in compare of normal one. I mean in your OS you may found C and D drive in order but during installation you may see C drive later than D drive. So don’t get confused. Just make sure the sizes of those drives and format it. Make sure you don’t format some other drive in fast. So do formatting stuff with all your concern.
Creating partition during fresh installation: Suppose you are installing fresh operating system or you are installing operating system after complete clean up. Then make sure you are making proper partitions of your hard disk. It is advisable to make partition of your hard disk for different reasons. And one important one reason I already explained that you can save your data on other drive so you can save it during next formatting. So make sure that you make partition on your fresh OS installation.
Install OS updates: After the installation completes make sure that you do connect to the internet and install all available operating system updates. It is possible that you have old out dated operating system disk and because of that you may missing many important updates and features available in the latest operating system. So make sure you do install all the available updates first. If you are not concern with the latest features and apps then it may not apply for you. But it is advisable to have updated operating system for best experience.
Choose the latest OS installation: That’s what I do. I don’t format my computer just for having latest OS. But yes when I do format my computer for some important reason like malfunctioning system then I make sure that I can have latest version of that operating system. So if you can arrange the disk of latest operating system then it is always good to have something new and latest. Having latest version will give you best experience as I said above.
