This can be used as a side dish for Roti, Poori, Idly, Dosa and also for curd rice.

 

Ingredients:

  • Drumstick - 4
  • Tomato - 3
  • Small Onion - 10
  • Ginger - a small piece
  • Garlic - 4 teeths
  • Green chillies - 4
  • Red chillies - 2
  • Aniseed ( Sombu in Tamil ) - 1 tsp
  • Grated cocunut - 1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt - As per taste


For Frying:

  • Cinammon - 1
  • Cloves - 1
  • Star anise ( Annasi poo in Tamil ) - little
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - little

Method:

1. Chop the drumsticks and take out the seed and  the paste like skin using spoon.

2.  Remove the skin of small onion.

3. Cut onion, tomato and green chillies to very small pieces.

4. Grind grated cocunut, red chillies, aniseed, ginger and garlic to a fine paste by adding little water.

5. Heat oil in a pan ,add cinnamon, cloves, star anise, small onion and curry leaves and fry for sometime.

6. Add green chillies and tomatoes and fry.

7. Then add  the already taken seeds and paste of the drumstick and mix it well.

8.  Add 1 cup of water and needed salt to the mixture.

9.  When it boils well and all vegetables are cooked, add the grinded paste and wait for some time.

10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
