Athletes have enough energy to record. No question of fit of hysterics, knock of the hammer, or collapse to get into full effort. It is a matter of time and had enough calories to take. But what exactly is a calorie?

Physics

The term "calorie" is used in physics. It is a unit of heat, and by extension of energy. Since 1948, however, scientists like Joule unit: 1 cal = 4.18 J. Only in the nutrition and dietetics sometimes stayed in calories count. It uses the "Calorie", with big C, standing for a thousand calories (1 Cal = 1000 cal = 1 kcal). All these different units appear alternately on the package, depending on the country, brand, product.

Nutritive value

Interesting to know that 1g protein contains 4 calories, 1 g fat 9 calories, 1g carbohydrates 4 kcal and 1g alcohol 7 kcal. Greasy fries contain a lot of calories, but endurance athletes better get their energy from carbohydrate-rich diet. To determine calories burned when cycling you need to securely multiplying the number of hours your body weight and x 15. A rider of 70 kg consumed heads for 4 hours, therefore 4 x 15 x 1970 kcal = 4200 kcal. Know that the basic energy 2600 kcal per day.
