While many of you might have enjoyed getting soaked in the rains with your friends and many must be taking pleasures of the wet season from within the four walls of your house having coffee and snacks. Skin care tips for the monsoons

We generally have three types of skin that is normal, dry and oily. The type of skin differs from person to person. It is very important that you know what kind of skin you have because the products you use and the skin regime you follow must depend on your skin type. It is important that you chose your skin care regime based on the type of skin you have. Irrespective of the skin type there are some tips that you must follow especially during the monsoons:-

  • Use herbal or an antibacterial face-wash to prevent acne and keep your skin healthy.
  • Do not forget to wash your face even after a brief outing to get rid of the dirt that adheres on to the skin.
  • Keep your skin well moisturized and well cleansed during the monsoons and never forget to use a sun-block when stepping out.
  • It is important that you do not use too much of make up during the monsoons as the monsoons are humid and a heavy makeup tends to block the pores. So allow your skin to breathe so that it looks fresh. Use minimal makeup and light products whenever possible.
  • Wear light clothes that are skin friendly and make you feel comfortable at all times during the monsoons. The risk of fungal infections is high during the rainy season as moisture tends to lock up between the tight fitted clothes and skin. The humid conditions make way for fungal infections of the skin thus it is always wise to wear light fitted clothes.

  • During the monsoons the scalp tends to absorb moisture this leads to hair fall and if not taken care of you may lose a lot of your tresses during the wet season. So keep your scalp dry all the time. You can also go for regular hair spas to rejuvenate your tresses.
  • If your hair gets wet in the rain do not tie them up instead wash them properly and dry them with a hair drier if required.
  • It is advised that you should use lukewarm water for washing your hair.
  • Have plenty of water to keep your tresses healthy.
  • Use conditioner that suits your hair type and always apply it after a hair wash.
  • Have a diet enriched with protein to have healthy hair.
  • You may not like oiling your hair but it provides important nourishment for your hair that your grandma must have suggested you. Oiling once in a week will provide the much needed nourishment for your tresses.
  • If you have oily hair use gel based shampoos and conditioners for your hair.
  • Use homemade hair packs whenever possible.

Tips to take care of your feet

Your feet are the worst sufferers in the monsoons. Most of you will agree that they are the most neglected part of our body. So this monsoon make it a point to follow some tips to take care of your feet and make them look healthy and happy.

  • The most important tip to keep your feet healthy during the wet season is to keep them dry and clean. Especially keep the spaces between the fingers clean as it is very prone to fungal infections during the rains.
  • Clean and trim your feet nails on a regular basis to keep away accumulation of dirt.
  • Many people tend to neglect their feet as the face and hair get most of their attention. Moisturizing and cleansing the feet well will make your feet soft and healthy. Use scrubs to do away with the dead skin cells.
  • If you have sweaty feet do not forget to use an anti-bacterial or an antifungal foot powder between your toes.
  • It is advisable to change the socks you wear on daily basis and always use washed ones.
  • Get a pedicure done every month or as and when you feel the need. It helps your feet relax.
  • Wear footwear that is open and allows the feet to breath. But at the same time you must ensure your feet are dry to prevent bacterial or fungal infections.
