One news that has been circulating all around the globe recently, in a big way, is the 2012 end of the world predictions. Although a vast majority of the population would want to believe that, December 21st, 2012, the day considered to be the doomsday, just comes and goes just as in case of any other day, there are certain signs or concepts that forces us to believe that, something bad is going to rock the world on that very day. Morover, the scientists from NASA have given us the notion that, the year 2012 is going to be one where lots of enviromental changes are prone to happen. Since, the end of the world debate has become a burning one, there are lots of opinions arising from different parts of the world. While some say that, the end could happen as a result of the ever increasing evil deeds of humans, some argue that, it could happen as an act of GOD, wherein, the enviroment or the nature would be made to behave in such a way that, the entire living beings would be wiped out from earth. Although, there are lots of different kinds of end of the world predictions happening out there, a few of them are highly rated by philosophers and astronomers since, they  believe, the chances of them occuring are pretty much high. Let me put below a few of the theories that are quite frightening but have got doses of reality too:-

1. Most end of the world predictors are never going to miss out on the theories and predictions put forward by the Mayan calendar. Mayans were highly intellectual people and philosophers and more interestingly, they have got a proven track record of predictions. It is believed that, the Mayans have predicted many great events that has occured to date. However, in context with the end of the world predictions, they have a say too. According to the Mayan calendar, this present world comes to an end on December 21st, 2012, giving way to a newly formed era and group of people who lives in complete harmony and peace with each other.
   
2. Secondly, it's the solar storms predictions put forward by the scientists that could put an end to a majority of lives on earth. They say that, these solar storms could be as massive as anything that, the whole of world economy and infrastructure could be in total disarray. When this happens, one might not be able to use mobile phones nor will there be any kind of network available. There could be every chance of electric failure and the world could be as dark as ever. The frightening aspect is that, already it has been reported by the scientists that, minor solar storms has caused havoc to satellites and power grids. Keeping these in mind and the predictions for bigger upcoming solar storms, our world could go through a phase of mass destruction.
 
3. Yet another indication is something that most of us are well aware of, the Biblical references. In the Book of Revelations, the end of days are given in a more detailed manner where it points out several drastic events that might happen before the end finally approaches. One good example is the ever increasing price of gold. Gold prices have been on a consistent rise and with that, the intensity in corruption has also picked up. The Bible references that, a time would reach when people would throw off these ornaments. If we look at the levels of corruption happening all round the globe these days, we could just sense, that day is never too far away.

Now, similar to the above said theories or facts, there are lots of others too that are doing the rounds all around the globe. However, let's hope that, the doomsday, December 21st, 2012, never becomes a reality.
