We have no time for children

We have reached to the stage where we have not much quality time left for children; we are too busy in other activities especially if we both are earning members. However our children need the care they deserve for right kind of upbringing despite all our business, job related tensions and other activities. Right kind of parenting is must to see our children developing their personality in right manner. We cannot afford to leave them on their fate, as they are our responsibility.

If you are a woman

You might think in terms of resigning your job while you see your child not getting proper care or not coming up with right kind of manners etc but that is not the right solution. Job is not your need only but your mental satisfaction as well, which you can get rid of any time but you will regret once you do. Besides this would frustrate you no end up once you resign from your job and become whole time house maker because you always wanted to d some thing to prove your worth. In such a case, you shall have to find out an alternate to give your child a proper way of care to bring him up in a right manner. Let’s see just what your child should get- 

What I feel that we do not have to insist and follow our children 24x7 to make them aware about such things but such acts would make them only dependent on instructions and they shall not be able to take their own decisions about their own matters also that would make them slow in decision making. Therefore, if we involve every one in our household and make a strategy about upbringing of our child in case of a working mother there is no reason that not every thing falls in line and every problem solved in a right way. You can do it in whatever time is available to you give your child a proper way of life with right values.

You should have a proper communication

A right kind of communication is must with your child even while you are too busy with your work and unable to keep stay in touch constantly but you can develop innovative ways. You have options to talk to him whenever you find enough time or you can call him on phone maybe a poem or a drawing, even if you can spare an hour from your busy schedule for your kid that should be suffice to satisfy him mentally. It goes for your hubby who can spare some time for him separately or while with you, that will reassure your child mentally. 

You can call him from your office to know about his well-being and to assure him that you care for him that would make him feel reassured that you do care for him. You should make him remember your phone number to call you whenever in need. Make a few notes for him with small messages or lovely pictures that would certainly make him pleased. Few gifts of his choice would be another way of making him pleased and interested.    

Be a storyteller

Storytelling is one of the techniques about upbringing of a child that could find no replacement until now. That makes your child so happy when you tell him a story that he can forget all his problems. Spending only half an hour is almost sufficient to give him happiness, satisfied and makes him feel associated with you and not to forget the values you give him through the stories you tell him. The smiles of laughs of your child would fill you up with joys as well. Try to write a story in simple and interesting way while you are away from him and hand it to him, his joy would be a treat to watch.  

You can distribute childcare

In case you have a domestic help to look after your child at home, then you should instruct him/her about the treatment to your child in a clear manner. If your child stays in a day care, even they should be instructed about particular habits of your child if you feel they lack the necessary skills. You can always teach your child about the ways he behaves with domestic help or day care persons. 

In case, you have elderly family members to look after your child then it should help you to a great extent but your child is your responsibility and you are the best judge therefore you should tell them about your preference regarding upbringing of your child in no uncertain manner. They should also follow those same rules, which you want your child should follow for his best upbringing according to your choice. 

Find a few innovative ways-

• Make a chart with bold letters about the instructions you want to teach him and place them where he spends most of his time, his room and ask him to read aloud whenever you can that would serve two purpose. First, he would know these rules without you telling him about them, two- he would find it a fun to read tem because you told him so.
  
  
• Spend one full day with him when you can ask him about his activities in school, games, studies etc to show your concern. Remember your appreciation means a lot for him and even small boost up from your end would make him totally charged up. The way of your parenting would increase his self-confidence to greater heights, which is most important for a child’s development.
  
  
• Your way of parenting is also important in matters like behavior because a child does not have expressions like grownups but they have feelings and know to think, almost as adults do therefore you should treat them as a human being and not a mere child that would satisfy them mentally. You can always give them a feedback on their right and wrong behavior. If they behave which you think is not proper you have every right to let them know in a certain manner because ignoring that would not help their cause. You can even set your own standards of punishment for repeated misbehavior. However you should never try to hurt their feeling by being too negative.  
  
  
• Try to show yourself the same way, as you want to make your kid because even if you are with him for a limited period kid is watching you and trying to emulate your ways as you are his role model. 

Conclusion 

Whatever time you are providing to your child should be quality time with total dedication and without anything else in mind. You should teach him about unconditional love that has care and love only and nothing else. You should talk to him about his problems, his happiness and his schedules. You can also try to find out if he is finding any problems in his routine. Teach him about creativity and other ways of communications. Try every way to make him a responsible and jolly fellow.
