Today's Google Doodle only drew me to search for the bio of the inventor and thereby I got hold of the article.

Interestingly, here on this site we are communicating in English and still we are demeaning everything that is western. Valentine's Day has nothing to do with Bhagat Singh's martyrdom. Both are entirely different and can be observed in their own respective way. India has produced numerous Greats but do we celebrate their birthdays and observe their death anniversaries in each and every household then why making an issue out of this particular date.

Once we want all the benefits that globalisation offers us we should be prepared to assimilate other influences too which are western, it would be the same with them. In fact it is good thing to know and be a part of all cultures . Indian identity and its uniqueness will never diminish if people remain balanced rather than go overboard..

Nothing wrong in that. But do not misuse this opportunity. Men have the tendency to misuse women if circumstances are fit for them because sexual feelings in men are higher than women. Women always should be careful in their dressings.  What exactly does careful mean ? Dis all the rapists who raped toddlers and babies d so because they were not dressed " Carefully' ? I think it is precisely this mindset and attitude  by both women and men , especially women that breeds such an attitude among men ! I never say that all reasons behind rape is indecent dressing style of ladies. But this is one of the major reasons behind rape. Men with very poor personality always have the tendency to rape toddlers and babies also even if they are well dressed. They exploit ladies and babies because of their personality disorder.  Whether you agree or disagree, this is a fact that the ladies who expose sensitive parts of their body make men to be sexually attracted to them. We can avoid much of rape, if ladies can give little care while dressing.

Bhagat Singh was an icon in the freedom movement. His sentence to death was announced today in 14 feb and he was hanged 2  months later. Even Gandhi refused to appeal for commutation of his death sentence.  Today is also Valentine's day and lots of Indians are celebrating, but nobody has a thought for Bhagat singh

Bhagath Singh is an important character in Indian History. All of us studied about him when we were in school. History can't forget him soon. People especially ladies who are very interested in Bhagath Singh and his character always remember Bhathsingh on every valentines day.

Came across this article and enhanced my knowledge as I didn't know about the history behind the great invention. I am sure many of you know it but still wished to share this piece of write-up and through this paying my respect to the great inventor Rene Laennec for his great invention which is an important apparatus for the medical profession. There may be a story behind every invention. The story behind the invention of stethoscope is very interesting and thrilling. The basic idea came into the mind of Dr. Rene Laennec when he felt discomfort when he was trying to examine the heart beat of a young fatty women in a natural way. Really a nice article which give information about the development of stethoscope - one of the most important instruments in medical field.

usha manohar wrote: Change is an essential part of life,if we can ape western style of dressing, speaking , even their style of toilets and many other things why not Valentines day? ...I dont see anything wrong with it as long as it is kept withing limits and remains personal ! However, some business oriented people have found this a  great opportunity to further their business ventures LOL.. Not only this much but I think according to some we need to follow our own calendar and not the English one. Celebration is not a must so what is the problem. You are very right to point out that a business sector is making huge profit so they would if Indians come up with any other kind of celebration too. It is just a mark of globalisation and nothing else. If we are so much against the western culture then first thing we should do is that we should stop allowing our children sending abroad for jobs. We take pride in saying my so and so is in America and so on but, why? We need to be very Swadeshi (nationalist) in every aspect.

JNU student were protesting against hanging of Afzal guru2. His hanging happened during UPA rule3. Rahul gandhi came onboard to support the students even if they are going against his party's decision4. JNU students readily accept RG knowing that his govt was the one who hanged Afzal guru5. Are these students innocent? What is the role of RG here? 6. How come Mr. Modi becomes villain here?very confusion...

Manoj Kumar Lamba wrote: For vote bank politics, politicians are supporting anti nationalists. One of the twitter user rightly said that in India supporting anti nationalists brings vote for you while in other countries anti nationalist and their supporters are punished hardly. This is the essence of Indian character. That is why right from the days of Prithviraj, Hindus were  always at the receiving end.

Right now I am watching the news and typing this comment. Is this nationalism that which is taking place in the Patiala Court right now? A bunch of lawyers seem to be the greatest patriots who has turned into goondas and roughing up the journalists, even other lawyers and SFI supporters.

rambabu wrote: I'm not against Valentine Day celebrations. This view I expressed in my previous posts in the same discussion. The point I want to drive home is that, Martyr Bhagat Singh should also  be remembered, who was martyred on Feb 14 . There is one reason that I dislike in the Valentine's Day celebrations is Public display of love. Such acts will influence youth in a bad way. The issue is that 14th February has nothing to do with Bhagat singh.
