We care more about heart and lungs but seldom about eyes. Just imagine what loss of sight means. Just imagine dark world. We need to take food like carrots and leafy vegetables, fish for eye care.

Green vegetables are must for a good eye, and also regular periodic check up of eyes is necessary, We used to reach to Shankar Netrallaya annually, first time know about fish is related to strengthening of eye, which fish, salt water or sweet water or both?

Any fish containing omega fatty acids like sardines ( available both in river waters and sea) will do lot of good to the eyes.

Please suggest a food for non-fish eaters, thanks.

Carrots will top the list. Next in the list is leafy vegetables, sweet potatoes, eggs ( your option) and beans. You can get plenty of them in any season non stop especially in Australia where you are living now.

Thanks, I am taking all these plus avocados, except eggs which are different here from our local eggs although I have stopped even local eggs after bird flue spread.

Taking egg is not necessary. Drink carrots and red beat juice. Washing eyes with Triphla water is also useful.

Oh carrots are my favorite although too costly here beetroot is out of my reach as it is almost $10 a kg, but there are other items which are good for our eyes, available easily. Cherries and strawberries are a plenty and comparatively cheaper. Thanks for suggestion.

In winter season here carrot is available only in 2 or 3 Rs per kg and red beet root at 10 Rs. per Kg. Quality of carrot of my area is good one. It is more juicy and red in colour and and length is more than 9".

Actually there are very few local produce available in Australia, most vegetables and fruits come other countries besides the rates converted in INR sound too big. Fruits are comparatively cheaper but we use all vegetables and fruits as much as possible. Carrots are also one of them.

In addition to the food, one can do a few eye exercises that involve rotation of eyeballs in a circular motion daily in the morning for about 20 times. This will keep the eyesight in good condition.
Nice information shared! :)

I have heard washing your eyes with cold water makes your eyes fresh this is the first thing I do when wake up in the morning. :)

Yes I am suffering from eye problem from my childhood days. I can very well understand and feel the dark world. This is so because I become partial blind without my spects.

Whatever happened is happened. Now try to see the problem is not further deteriorated. You can do eye exercises like "Thrataka" daily for 5- 10 minutes to arrest further deterioration of your precious eyesight.

It's essential to wear dark glasses when one goes out on a sunny day. One of the best and effective ways to maintain good eyesight is to view alternatively a distant object and a nearer object for 7-8 rounds that lasts only 3 minutes.
