Yes , its a fact that, 'reading a novel can transport you into the body of the protagonist.' That's why one should carefully chose those books where the Protagonist is of exemplary character. It was said about this very early. Now the fact was established with a scientific data.

I agree, books do affect our brains and that is the reason I do read them. So does internet, the choice is ours, what we choose for ourselves.

I think everything that we connect with - be it a book, the Internet, a movie, a communication, a lifestyle, the people around us - influences our brain to a small or large extent. I think our overall personality and behavior reflect the different sources of influence in some way or the other.

I agree that books do have an impact on our mind and our entire way of thinking and also shaping in our personality...So, it is in our hands as to how we perceive and implemet these ideas in our life and in our thinking ...

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Eating anything and everything without discretion can spoil our stomach and health. Similarly, reading anything and everything may spoil our mind. We must choose books to read with discretion. A good book is like healthy food. It nourishes and builds up the reader.

Good comparison Xavier. Liked it...
Reading a good book has therapeutic benefits. It relieves your mind from stress by shifting off your focus from day to day grinding. A good book, if read before going to sleep will ensure a good sleep.

"a good book"?? How do you access one as a good book? A book that might be of interest to me may not be of your interest. Or do you consider certain books to be of therapeutic benefits irrespective of one's interest?
