She was trained by Goipchand, the coveted Dronacharya Award winner and represented Hyderabad in all major internal Badminton tourneys . And she earned her all time ranking number 3 in the world in Badminton.

But Sania Mirza was considered not eligible because her mother had gone to Mumbai for three weeks during her birth, and thus it was declared that she is not born in Telngana. So I concluded that Saina Newal is not being given her award because she was not born, this time in AP. The palce of birth has been touched upon many times in the thread rather than their achievements. As place of birth is the ultimate criteria it does not matter even if training is given by Gopichand ( where was he born).

Gopichand was born in AP and migrated to Hyderabad to run his famous Badminton academy. And Gopichand is the winner of the most Coveted award All England Badminton championship. He was the second player to win after Prakash Padukone. (Karnataka ).
