Every member knows about the ill effects of Smoking and drinking. But the poster Sri Gulshanjispecifically memtioned why  despite these bad habits he lived a long life. To justify this post he has given the link post. Members go by the contents of the post. Not beyond that.

Have you gone through the link I have given in the previous thread and what is the correlation between it and analyze both the links and what is your suggestion in relations with the link given at the start of thread.

I responded that a member should respond in relation with the contents of the post. Your link speaks of I'll effects of smoking which is beyond the scope of the contents of the post.

I don’t understand why there are so many arguments. In the link, the person himself says that the secret of his long life is ‘staying out of trouble’. He also admits that he does not know the real secret, but gives the credit to God; not to Cigarettes or whisky!!. He does not promote smoking, but wonders that he is still alive even after smoking for 90 years. It does not mean that “smoking is injurious to health” is a false statement. But it means that we, humans, are very insignificant beings in this infinite universe, who do not know the secrets of the divine plan that determines the wonderful phenomena of birth and death.  

I say, we the members will open the link and know that despite the harming habits like drinking and smoking. And the discussions too revove around this. In the link the neighbors expressed, the concerned person is free from tensions. And it's clear our discussions should be limited only to this aspect. Some interpreters distort the matter and beat around the bush that the thread encourages  Smoking. While the poster of the thread without mincing the words say that the thread is not intended to encourage smoking .

I agree rambabu people who have less tension lives longer. Stress is the main cause of getting disease like diabetes and abnormal blood pressure which certainly decrease life.

And the only  way to stop the ill effects of Stress is the YOGA way which is agreed to be the best way. If you cannot do Yoga, you can go for a 20 minute walk very day. This helps greatly in reducing the stress levels.

The topic has been sufficiently discussed. Now there appears nothing more for discussion. The discussion is moving away from main topic. KLet us close. Thanks to all for participating.
