Just a few minutes ago, I have concluded about religious belief and its influence in the formation of one's character. Through out the discussion it was clear that those who supported such religious practices were much low comparing to the other group. Yes, attitude of people towards religious beliefs have changed a lot. If so, why are these religious places over crowded than before? Why are people spending so much time from their busy schedules to visit temples and churches? If religious beliefs can't influence a person why this practice has increased over the last few years which has caused many bad incidents due to the over crowding of people?

Because majority of the people do sins and obviously when they come to God to forgive them they make the place crowdy..hehehe...
People whom you have targeted do not belong to these forums. They are from a different class. I would never say that I have no faith in almighty but I would never go for a Ganga snan on a Punima to make it more polluted that Ganges already is. I go their when this is not crowd season. You know there are almost one million people every day in Haridwar to bring water from distant places, ON FOOT in Shivratri days. The whole are is jammed for 15 days not even a bicycle runs from Delhi to Haridwar in last few days. That is a distance about 210 KM.

Exactly people relate God with a particular place of their faith and flock it on their days of belief.

I don't like to visit such places when they are crowded.. That's why I always avoid to went their during some special day when they will be full of crows.. Instead of that I like go their on normal days so that I can pray properly.

Friends I have little different explanation regarding this topic. First of all, many people believe in God. Faith on God and Dharma is alive in hearts of many people.
Secondly, brahmin family believe in performing puja and rituals. They have compulsory practice of going to temples.
Thirdly, all types and category of people believe in their sacred books and festivals. They will definately go to temple, mosques or churches, etc.
Lastly, holi places are now great tourist spots. It has history and archeological value. Shooting of films and daily soap takes place in temples, etc.
Visiting holy places or temples have nothing to do with one's true religion. We must have a temple in ourselves and strive to remain pure as far as possible. True religion resides in our conscience.
