Yes that is an old tradition there, that makes them feel hat this practice would be good for their kids but that is a risky job.

I love this free image hosting site for sharing my work

I feel pity on people who follow this tradition. People should understand its totally a risk for the life of the child.
There are many bizarre practices causing hurt or even fatal injury. There is one Holi festival function of stone fighting. In Mathura district a Panda goes through fire as a Holi festival ritual. Women beat men with sticks. A few daya back, I saw a report on TV showing the ritual of men getting trampled under running bulls' feet.

It is not only risky but sheer stupidity and blind belief which makes them do such things, many NGOs and women's organisations have been complaining against this practice but politicians dont want to interfere because it may make the believers angry..When Michael Jackson dangled his son outside the window of his hotel room to show him to the crowd it became such a big issue , regarding the safety of the child, but here throwing a child ... :

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Its look strange and also strange to hear such news.I just can't understand why people follow this kind of rituals.

We should not play taking any life risk. This is very unfortunate. Bitting man by woman has no risk and this is just symbolic.

Such rituals must be immediately stopped by the government officials. If possible then the temple should be closed. This is against human rights. This is illegal in India.

Even now in most of the villages, people follow these types of superstitious rituals. Even educated peoples still follow this stupidity.
Even I have seen something like this in TV.. I wonder how people can believe in such superstitions and do with their kids !!!!

They are ready to sacrifice themselves or they are ready to hurt themselves for the superstitious belief. So their kid wont be a matter for them.
