We shall have to rewrite our rule-book to suite our current needs. MOST Rules written more than 6 decades back have lost their value, especially as lawmakers are not sticking to rules themselves. We need straight forward rules without involving judiciary in complicated by-laws. That only provides benefits to mediators.

"Rule Book"? Do you mean to say the constitution of India? If that's that, then I think there have been a lot of amendments to it. And this one is going to be the most revolutionary - changing the juvenile age from 18 to 16.

Yes that's right, we need a new rule book. Amendments make things only complicated. A clear set of rules, no bylaws.

Our constitution can be amended any nymber of times and it is necessary to do so from time to time - dont they do it in one sitting when it is a question of increasing perks for ministers and MPs? Similarly laws are made not for the government but for the people and they need to be modified depending on thecurrent situation within our society ..

As they get new experience, the amendments are done. It depends on what the situation is for them to do so. Newer things take place which weren't either thought of earlier or need a mention in the amendment. And yes, it never happens in one sitting as you pointed out. Its' a lengthy process.

You probably got confused about what I meant, the last time the DA increase for ministers and MPs took one sitting only and since there is a very obvious consesnsus it got passed immediately ! they know how to look after their personal interests ..

Ok, thanks for clearing me. Yes, they pass bills about their own interest extremely fast and wihtout any hiccups. And look at Lokpal. It's almost 5 decades now and no progress yet. Reasons are pretty obvious.

That's very true! Laws are meant to meet the expectations and needs of society at any given point and it has been evolving and developing since the time immemorial. It is by no means static in nature. Thus we can observe many customs, conventions which formed the core of many a legislation have been accepted or discarded to meet the demands of time.

Why is so much time consumed if they think a law is need of the hour?

The major problem with our leaders is a complete lack of foresight. There is absolutely no provision or scope in our law for any futur mishaps or improvements ...They are short sighted and by the time the new amendment gets imlemented something else would havee creeped in...

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Law or rules should not be rigid, these are should be flexible. When every thing is changing nothing is wrong in amendments of some rules. When India constitution was come in force most of peoples are honest and patriot. Now time is changed, bribe is courstey. People are joining politics as career not to serve country and peoples.

That is very true, Politics is now business and a great investment for some since their and probably 3 or 4 future generation will benefit by what they amass...Unless we start making amends and take things seriously this country will reach the pits ...

Yes this country is reaching the pits, our politician are much fast in amending rules which are their benefits like pay and allowances. When Lalu Prasad is sentence by court his family member said that we will run party, we will go high court and public. It means if they win election they are innosent. How shameless persons these are?

Shame stands poles apart from politicians in our country. Beg, borrow or steal is the main Mantra for them.

Law making takes its own course of time, meanwhile they can reassure people about their intentions.

What do you expect? Lalu, his party and family to do? Lalu Yadav has been found guilty and he will be sentenced to jail. Nobody can make him, his party and people lose heart and surrender. Lalu has definitely an undeniable right to appeal. Then it is for appellate court to decide. We or nobody else can be judge. We cannot speculate what the decision of higher court will be. They have also the right to contest election. Lalu may be barred but not his entire party and family. Now again you speculate what the people will do. You think that people will support them and they will win. If so, what we can do or any one else can? If Lalu wins it will simply confirm my viewpoint that ninety percent of our people are corrupt and for them corruption is no issue. We are wring in singling out politicians as corrupt when all- businessmen, priests, clergy, bureaucracy, corporate- are corrupt.
