Haryana has recently witnessed a shocking 15 rape cases in the last single month. To curb the the harassment of women in the city the Khaap Panchayats from all over the state have scheduled to meet today. It may come out with a decision to lower the age of marriage of girls from 18 to 15 or 16 years!
Is this decision right and will it be helpful to curb such cases and ensure women safety in the state? Add your view points.

    I do not think marrying in lower age is solution for this I think no one will prefer this.

    Boys and girls should be married at right age. marriage- early or late is not a solution to check rape. married women are also raped. There is need to change mind setup. Strict police action against the culprits and some boldness by women is necessary.

    The solution is really funny. I don't understand if a boy do a wrong thing, but everyone give punishment girl only. why don't they punish boys. why don't they won't such boy in such a way that other people should become scare of doing such harassment.

    How can they ensure safety for women by lowering the marriage age?? :angry: It seems so illogical!! Besides, whether boy or girl marriage should take place only when they are mentally matured enough to deal with the responsibilities that comes with marriage.

    Even in andhra pradesh also they are thinking pass a rule of making marriages of age 15 years for boys and girls. This is really bad. IF such rule is passed then government people are unfit to control such dirty attempts on girls.

    Reducing age of marriage is not a sloution to reduce rate of rapes occuring in cities/villages. We need to make our law strict and should support for severe punishments for those who do this crime may be that may effect the situation. :blink:

    Maybe setting up of women protection cells can help to improve the conditions there. But the Khaap has a different way of thinking! I don't understand will marriage ensure the safety of women? Are there not cases when a married woman has been victimized?

    I have read many cases in the paper and in tv about the married women was rapes. Women has no protection at all but that means they should not be punished by early marriage. the culprit should be severely punished in such a way no other person will try to look towards a women for attempting such a worst thing

    This Decision is disgusting. I don't feel that making girl to marry 15 is the right solution. I am sure, all people would like to have strict decision against boys.

    I do not understand the logic for early marriage. The sex starved maniacs of Haryana will rape girls even if they are married early.

    I have a suggestion. If the Khap panchayats and their supporting politicians are so keen in protecting the rapists, let them establish brothels for these maniacs. Let the khap panchayats provide girls and women to such brothels from their own families.
