we met a couple of times
during the summer time
she got a beauty that in one word i call sublime
it never came to my mind that i could cross her line
with such a beauty, indulgence could become a crime
but one thing led to the other
we made acquaintance and i got her number
she's allured by my style because she knows i'm a baller
now she wants to know if i could be her lover
she's a dime piece too so i told her
if she would be my lover then i'm down for whatever
we could have the love stay, we could grow together
i will never ever leave baby, i will stay for ever
we became two crazy birds in love
no wind was strong enough to blow us off
we could fly anywhere because the love had no limit
whatever you want baby, i will go and get it
Kurbaan, produced by Hiroo Yash Johar & Karan Johar and directed by Rensil D’Silva, is a forthcoming thriller based on global terrorism. It features Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi in the lead roles.
Music: Salim-Sulaiman
Lyrics: Niranjan Ayegar*
The album has five original songs and one remix.
Shukran Allah is a soft romantic number with beautiful lyrics. Sonu Nigam’s vocals are outstanding and Shreya Ghoshal’s rendition is pure and gives the song the emotional feel that it needs. The highlight of the song is the Shukran Allah Walah Alham Dilulah part by Salim Merchant…simply marvellous rendition! 4/5
Next comes Dua, a fast paced track which has a bit of both – Indian as well as Western. Though it has veteran singers like Sukhwinder Singh and Kailash Kher, it disappoints..specially after you’ve heard Shukran Allah. Even Suzanne D’Cruz Aiman’s English vocals doesn’t help the already dull song. – 2/5
Ali Maula by Salim Merchant is a slow Sufi track. The highlight of the song is the urdu lyrics in the song and Salim’s outstanding rendition ofcourse. This devotional song is for the mature audience. Not everyone would like it. – 3/5
The remix version of Ali Maula is simply outstanding. Nice beats. Here, I would actually differ from Rishabh’s views. The song has NO RnB influence. Trance, it is! And I found this remix slightly better than the original – 3.5/5
Finally, we have the title track – Kurbaan Hua by the guest composers – Vishal-Shekhar. Vishal’s husky voice is apt for this rock song. Lyrics are great but music is nothing extraordinary, it’s similar to what we’ve heard previously in other desi-rock songs. Nevertheless, a decent song! – 3/5
---
Overall, I am disappointed with the album, especially because my expectations were high after listening to Shukran Allah. I wonder why Karan Johar chose Salim-Sulaiman and why not Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, considering their average and excellent performances in Kaal and KANK/KHNH respectively. Why not even Vishal-Shekhar for the whole album? The duo composed some really nice songs in Dostana. Not that there are bad songs in the album apart from Dua but when it’s a KJo film, excellent songs are expected, not average songs.
The best songs in the album are Shukran Allah and Ali Maula (Remix).
My Rating for the Album – 3/5
There's a lot of talk today about the caller tunes! The person who needs
to reach you through phone now doesnt have to hear the same old boring
tring tring!!!!
Instead there are lots of songs, jokes and music which can set as caller
tune! Caller tunes depict the attitude of the person as such! Also they
create certain psychological effect to the caller too!
Lets say if a vexed person is calling his friend, and if he has the
caller tune that " Ovvoru pookalume..." it ceates a small reaction in the
mind of the caller!
And if an angry person is calling someone and listens to "Nan adicha
thaanga maate" will aggrevate his anger indeed!
On the contrary, there are certain people who say that caller tune is
something which the other person is going to listen and why do i have to
pay for it!!!
K there has been lots of music review this season, almost for every movie.. but this is my 1st review, hope you guys like it, as i dont have a free hand in ratings tough..
The music reviewed is of KURBAAN.. a much anticipated movie of the season, due to Saifeena! Its directed by Rensil D Silva, produced by Karan Johar.. featuring Saif, Kareena and Vivek Oberoi..
The movie is based on terrorism.. and hence I think it has 5 songs only..
the music director of the movie is Salim Sulaiman.. so lets start the review!
1) Shukran Allah - Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal and Salim Merchant
Its a slow song.. melodious.. hummable.. smoothing.. a typical Karan Johar movie song like Kal ho na ho, Kabhi alvida na Kehna tracks.. After a long time Sonu Nigam is back with his forte.. Its a very nice song.. would be a hit very soon..
Rating - 4/5
2) Dua - Sukhwinder Singh,Kailash Kher & Marianne DCruz Aiman
Salim Sulaiman has their style of music and this song marks their style.. its up beat.. and its sung by Sukhwinder and Kailash Kher.. Its beats take turns from being western to Indian desi dholak.. but it lacks in lyrics and melody.. Its just seems like a occasional/situational song..
Rating - 2.5 / 5
3) Ali Maula - Salim Merchant
When you listen to Kurbaan songs, you will find its highly Urdu genre.. The lyrics of this songs is completely Urdu, and its very very slow song.. very smoothing at the same time.. Its a prayer song.. It has a deep meaning and impact when you listen to it.. Its a very spiritual and impacting song.. Ruo ko chu lene wala.. It can be heard everyday when u get up or when you go to sleep.. or when u are down, and wanna pray.. its superb..
Rating 3.5 / 5
4) Rasiya - Shruti Pathak
Wondering who is Shruti Patak.. you will wonder more after you hear her sing this classical melody.. its a classical song, slow, with dialogues of Kareena, very very sensuous.. sexy song.. beats are unusual but are very nice.. Its a low octave song, classical, sensuous, It will be a hit more bcoz of its video I guess..
Rating - 2 / 5
5) Kurbaan Hua - Vishal Dadlani
Yes.. here it is.. the best song of the album.. 1 of the best song of this season.. its stupendous.. Slow Rock.. with flanger in between.. very nicely sung by Vishal.. its NEW AGE music.. I think this is the theme of the movie, and will be played in between scenes too, in background too.. its the main song.. and its the best undoubtedly.. dont miss it.. bcoz mein to KURBAAN HUAAAA is song pe.. KURBAAN HUAAAA.. and you will also be singing this line rest of the season... KURBAAN HUAAAAA..
Rating - 4.5 / 5
6) Ali Maula remix
Now, where Ali Maula is a slow prayer song.. this remix version is a Discotheque genre, RNB i suppose.. its more of music then the song actually.. it has completely changed the environment of the song.. nice work by DJ.. but dont think you can listen to it more than 5 times.. you will be bored for sure.. Unless you Love RNB.. then it can a superhit for you..
rating - 2 / 5
K thats it
those were the 6 songs..
the music actually releases tomorrow, on 13th.. please buy Original Cds..
or you know where to go..
OVERALL RATING FOR THE ALBUM - 3.5 / 5
BEST SONG - KUBAAN HUA 4.5 / 5
Thank you .. Cya.. take care
The music of an exciting upcoming movie dat says "a very rare father-son-father relationship" was launched yesterday!!
Veteran composer Illayraja gave music to paa after his composition in Cheeni kam etc.
There are in all 5 songs in this movie along with the theme of the song:-
1. Udi udi ittefaq se:- The song is sung by Shilpa Rao. A normal song with rhyming lyrics and the stereotyped 4-beat.. Seems a happy track.
2. Hichki Hichki:- Amazing song by Sunidhi Chauhan.. A song with a nice bass and techno music and very nicely sung!! An unconventional beat used in the song which makes difficult for the singer but it was nicely managed by Sunidhi!
3. Udi Udi ittefaq se 2:- Another version of the song sung by shaan. It seems a sad song or something with unplugged music.. Very nice start given in acoustic guitar n some nice fillers n background in the piano.. Some nice work of cello n violin in the interlude of the song.. Short song which is surely to b liked by all shaan lovers..
4. Halke se bole:- A chorus sung by children probably picturised in Auro's school.. Nice lyrics, techno music likely to be liked by children.
5. Mere paa:- An unbelievable and exceptional song sung by Amitabh Bacchan.. Many of u including me wer not able to recognise amitabh's appearence in this movie but few of u might hav recognised but m damn sure that after listening this song u wont believe dat its Amitabh!! Full marks to veteran Amitabh Bacchan!! The theme music of paa adds to the beauty of this song!!
6. Theme of paa:- A blend of techno music and instruments brought together resulting to a nice music!!!
