Lymphangioma is localized cluster of dilated lymph sacs in the skin and a subcutaneous tissue which cannot connect into the normal lymph system grows into lymphangioma.

Types-

1.   Superficial variant – appear as small blisters.

2.   Deep lesions- are large, cystic and translucent.

Usually disfigurement is noticed by the child’s parents. Sometimes small vesicles may leak clear fluid. Occasionally the vesicles may be rubbed with clothes, get infected and become painful. Otherwise this lesion is painless.

Lymphangioma found at the junction of the limbs at the junction of the trunks. Skin vesicles contain clear fluid and look yellow or watery. Lymphangioma is soft and spongy. They may be small or big lesions.

Surgical excision is the treatment of lymphangioma.
