Personal Life

John Abraham was born on 17th December 1972 in Mumbai. His family consists of his Malayali father, a Parsi mother and a younger brother named Alan. His father is an architect and mother is a homemaker and charity worker. His birth name is Farhan Abraham. He grew up in a middle class family and was good at studies. He studied at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim in Mumbai. He graduated from Jai Hind College with honors paper being Economics. He has done his MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and also received a degree of Master in Management Studies from Mumbai Educational Trust (MET). In his school and college life along with studies, he was also a good sportsperson. In his school days he was a winner in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. In his college he was the captain of the football team. He also got a training of Tae Kwon Do under master Javed Khan. After finishing college he worked in Time and Space Media Entertainment Promotions Ltd and Enterprise Nexus. Along with being a super model and actor John is a social worker and is intensely involved with social communities like Peta and Habitat for Humanity. Being an honest hard worker and seeing his efforts for these causes he did earn the ‘Eco Warrior’ award from the Vice President of India. His height is 6’1” and he is a vegetarian who also eats fish.

His personal life is incomplete without the presence of the famous actress and supermodel Bipasha Basu. He was in a relationship with her for almost 10 years and was tagged the inseparable couple in Bollywood. However it did not work out between the two of them and they finally called it off. He is presently dating Priya Marwah who is a US based Investment Banker by profession. They were spotted many a times together but both of them staunchly refused all such rumors. Apart from the lady factor in his life he is also passionate about bikes and being fit. His connection with motorcycles started when he was just six years old, at the age of eighteen he bought his first motorcycle Yamaha RE 350 which he bought for only Rs 17,500. Presently he is the proud owner of a R1 1000cc and a V-Max 1700cc. He is also a very fit person and follows a strict diet. His training routine is disciplined and more than exercising he believes in a eating right.

Professional Life

The manly looks, sick pack torso and a cute smile did make John Abraham the highest paid model in Indian modeling Industry. Bragging the Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 1999 his career was already kissing skies. He was a much known face in the modeling industry and got signed by Cary Models in Singapore later also he got work offers from Hong Kong, London and New York. To improve his acting skill he joined the Kishore Namit Kapoor acting school and completed the acting course. He appeared in many commercial advertisements. After doing a fair share of work in modeling he entered the Bollywood industry with his debut film Jism in 2003. Unlike other actors who choose action movies and male oriented movies he chose a sensuous and emotional movie like Jism. He was casted opposite Bipasha Basu who was John Abraham’s senior in the modeling industry. Apart from the movie both the actors work was highly appreciated. Later in that year came his movie Saaya dealing with paranormal activities which did not do well either But John Abraham had already marked his name in the Bollywood Industry.

In 2004 John Abraham’s look in Dhoom made him famous worldwide. People were crazy to see the actor in a racing bike and having a cool attitude being a villain. As he did a good work in the movie, Dhoom was a superhit and gave him a huge name in the Hindi film industry. After Dhoom and receiving such great response from the audience the handsome actor starred in two movies in 2005 one being a supernatural thriller Kaal and a comedy movie named Garam Masala and both did fairly well in the box office. John Abraham had a very good and major role in the critically acclaimed movie Water. The movie dealt with the sad state of the Hindu widows in the 1930s and his work did keep a mark on the audience.  Apart from doing good movies, his dimples and handsome body has won a heart of millions of females in India and across the world. The movies Taxi No 9211 and Kabul Express was huge hits. The friendship shown in Dostana starring Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and him was loved by the audience. In 2010 his two films Aashayein and Jhootha Hi Sahi had a different storyline but did work well at the box office. He produced till only one movie naming Vicky Donor. Vicky Donor being highly praised by the audience. His upcoming release will be Race 2 on 25th January 2013. He has a bag full of upcoming movies but his role as Kabir in the movie Dhoom will always be remembered. He also bragged the Best Villain Award for Dhoom and Best Supporting Actor for Baabul
