Hello Friends. Sajeetharan Here.

This time GD topic is ""Have Bhopal victims got Justice ?".
This GD Topic mainly focus on common issue. Hope this would be an another interesting topic On GD. Hope many participants would participate.

what compensation? 20000 lives and countless poor who became invalid for life it would have cost them the states budget. will any govermentt want that plus the pressure from US to cover the case. the CJI justifies his judgment and says sorry for the victimsb but he stands by his judgment.

with this governmentt and laws and law keepers what those poor people can get any thing in the name of compensation.
when Lathur was hit by quake, the relief blankets from Korea and Germany were sold for hefty sums in the market and were replaced by blankets woven by jail inmates. All officers and ministers have a share in it.

when TN was hit by Tsunami the bloody politicians cronies stopped all the relief vehicles at the entrance to villages checked for ant valuables and made the relief workers to wait till the poitician's arrival who came after 4-5 hours late just to pose for the press.
Bhopal gas tragedy was so dreadful. . Anderson was given an escape by our government at that time but it is said that Anderson had given money to the victims to India.. but it was eaten up (as in not reached ) to the poor victims .as some politicians kept it themselves.

hi everyone,
Well the topic is Have Bhopal victims got Justice ? And i agree with others that some higher official of Government always keep there hand to interrupt the relief funds meant for victims of natural disasters in our country..

But here the case is not a natural disaster to be forgiven as it is simple negligence which caused such disaster. If the leak was reported earlier by the official to general public may be such disaster could not have occured...This shows that why India is still backward in issues like this..If such disasters happen in other countries they will think about the cause and definetely try not to negelect again. First of all in other countries people will not spare the neglience.Doctor too fear for that and work responsibily...

HOwever whatever be the situation of the victims our honourable PM has said Victims can never really be fully compensated.

This statement itself shows that he agrees for not giving full justice for the victims.
Hi All- Agree with all.. the statement "justice delayed is justice denied" has become true in this case. Anderson's freedom and a mere 2 years imprisonment to others found guilty clearly bring out the fact of the above statement.

And, as Rajani said this is not a natural disaster to be forgiven..
Between why is that when a terrorist kills 10 people our court gives him a death sentence but when someone kills 15 thousand people he gets bail for 25 thousand rupees?
i think crime committed by Warren Anderson is no less than any terrorist attack only that one killed because of ideology and other because of negligence and hunger to make money, but then he is an amreican!
Well go on.I read all these threads and wish to keep away from this GD.But if forced to reply one day I will.

It is a mockery indeed. The Government does not give a damn about the citizens. The judge couldn't have done much. He gave the maximum punishment allowed by the section of the law under which the CBI charged the convicted. The Government of India settled the case outside the cout with UC for a mere 47 crore dollars, when initially it demanded 330 crores.
It then took 15 years to give the money to the sufferers.

A holiday in Miami - $2999

A tour for the world cup final in South Africa €1976

Cost of smart phone $ 700

Cost of 15000+ lives $500.

Bhopal judgment. Priceless. There is everything money can buy. Mastercard judgement.
@ sajeetharan

Its true that compensation given for the victims of bhopal tragedy is very less. Why such cases takes so much time to handle with. This time gap gives a big GAP for the culprits to make their path safe.

@ Santhosh

Compensation given for such cases are just a show off. money can't count the vaklue of money..
Though high officials says that Anderson was allowed to escape also to avoid the public issues and violence related to the tragedy. but was it just a cover for the real culprit to escape and made a way to show the weakness of indian government? a big topic to discuss..

@ rajani

Its true that this is not a case of natural disaster to just give some compensation to the victims and say that everything is over.. This was a human disaster caused because of lack in safety precautions and human care. So, punishment should be given to the persons if they are really had a hand in this.

@ sridevi

you have said that "justice delayed is justice denied" which is apt about this case.. this much delay in such cases are not appreciable.

Dear sridevi,
Thanks for approving my comment... :) I only want to say that in some jobs neglegence is not needed...and the neglegence may take lives...which can never be retured back even with money...
Though money is just to help the family they will never get back their loved one... :( How ever it is true that as said by you that lot of people in India and US are connected which is a proof for injustice.
