It is colorful festival just like Holi and love watching those artistic kites flying in the air and touching each other. Unfortunately at my place no one fly kites. :(

This is Lohri today for us. The children fly kites today here also but main kite flying in my area is on Basant Panchami day. But this day too is observed as kite flying day in many parts of north India.

Yes I guess it is different for different.. I have heard that in some part of Rajashthan people used to fly kites on Rakshabandhan.

Actually Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and Hindus they all participate in kite flying and even compete in who cuts more kites with one kite. They prepare special threads for the occasion.
