I also wonder whether women can add their husbands as second holder in accounts maintained in women bank. Also can they issue cheques to males. If so, the bank will be visited by men as payees of cheques or as joint holder with their wives. Then how can a bank be entirely women's.

Ha ha ha! That is something that needs thinking. The truth is many women still do not know how to deposit and withdraw money, write cheques etc. So even though they may have a bank account (still many women do not have their own bank accounts) all the affairs of the bank are looked after by their fathers, husbands etc. So your question is really relevant!

I have to agree with you Kalyani. It is sad but true that many women are still illiterate when it comes to writing cheques or doing any kind of transaction. But I must say that my wife is literate when it comes to this and I don't need to visit the bank, at least for that purpose.

I am not sure whether it is wise idea or for that matter whether it is required at all ! If they concentrate more on having some other much needed facilities like providing protection and help for women when they are being abused in public , it would be more welcome move !

That should actually be the topmost priority now, also not forgetting proper hygienic sanitation facilities for women which are still missing for women in rural India, and also public sanitation in big cities. Instead of a separate bank,. such issue should be addressed.

That should actually be the topmost priority now, also not forgetting proper hygienic sanitation facilities for women which are still missing for women in rural India, and also public sanitation in big cities. Instead of a separate bank,. such issue should be addressed.

As such there is no need to have special banks for women. Moreover unlike past people don't go much to the banks for transaction with the introdution of the facility of online banking and ATM facilities so in my opinion to have it will just be a useless thing. :blink:

As people use ATM more as you said, will you favor- ONLY WOMEN ATMS. Only women would enter these ATMs and most probably, only women guards will be employed there.

No I won't prefer it.

And no body should but government should identify some more issues for which they can do that.
