Do you still use a desktop computer?

    My take on a desktop is it has yet to outlive its usefulness and likely to remain so for quite some years to come. Though we have a lot more choices these days, desktops still dominate offices and homes.

    These days people are using all kinds of gadgets for internet access. Gone are the days when desktop computers used to be the only instrument for the purpose. People access the net using tablet pcs, laptops and smart phones these days. However I still prefer a desktop computer for internet access and other applications. I think no other machine can beat desktop computers for the purpose. Desktops offer wider screens, fast internet access and a range of applications that you cannot use on other machines. Do you agree?

    I also like desktop. My first computer was desktop. To work long period desktop is best. laptop have their own speciality. Battery backup, fast and we can carry it any where.


    I’m an ardent fan of Desk top and remain as one. But a few a days back I bought an IPad with lots of Apps. related to my designing profession. Now, as an experiment I clubbed them and the results are not bad.

    My daily work involves 3D animations, movies for TV ads. Except a desk top, all other genres are mere drawing room decorative pieces when it comes to tough jobs.

    I use desktop replacement, with Windows 8 installed, and smart phones while on the go to stay always connected. In the recent updates, probably the user who have installed Bing desktop on xp, got corrupted. Windows 8 is a platform where both mobile and desktop work can be done simultaneously. :ohmy:

    If key board is the main plus point of desk top, it is possible to attach the key board to lap top also.

    yes I use desktop computer with latest LED screen. It is very comfortable to desktop only as i work for more hours. Laptop is only to work for less time.

    I haven't said main, it is one of the plus point... Yeah we can attach keyboard to laptop too, but that will definitely look weird. :laugh:
