The special status of Gorkha Land is already recognized as the region enjoys special status in West Bengal state. Then what is wrong in giving separate statehood to Gorkhaland? Incidentally, many states were formed on basis of language- Telugu, Tamil, Malyalam. Then what is wrong in forming a separate Gorkhaland state on basis of Nepali language?

Neither Nepali is a language of our country nor Nepalis are people from any of our states. This would be like number of Biharis living in Nepal ask for a separate state in Nepal. And if so, what could be the problem forming a separate state for Bangladeshis on same ground, they outnumber Nepalis with big margin.

Nepalis in North Bengal stand on a different footing. They are not refugees or immigrants like Bangladeshi. The North Bengal Nepalis are very well citizens of India for several generations. They have no nexus with Nepal. If the Local Biharis in Nepal live in a certain identifiable territory in Nepal, it is up to them to see what special status they want for themselves. I understand they have a different political party and wield some influence in administrative matters.

There is nothing wrong if Gurkhas are given a statehood. If Just on the basis of slogan shoutings of a few unemployed politicians can get a Telangana, why not Gurkha land? Their demand is much older than Telangana demand.

The ruling and opposition are united in West Bengal on issue of Gorkha land. If they support autonomy for the Gorkha region, there appears no logic why separate statehood not be granted. This is merely ego problem.

Pradip Bhattacharya ‘s statement, ‘By creating Telangana, the separate identity of people of the region would be recognised.’ Exposes his lack of knowledge about Telangana. The very fact that AP had several CMs from Telangana speaks loudly about the identity of Telanganites .

Telangana has a distinct history. I remember that the communist violent land revolution started in tat region and later Vinoba Bhave also began his Bhoodan movement there.

Then what more recognition Pradip Bhattacharya wants to add to Telanganites?
I think the people of Gorkhaland didn't fight like that of Telangana people. Now from monday, they have re-started their movement. Lets see what will happen.

In addition to this, Mayawati has also demanded seperation of UP into 4 states.

How Telangana movement is different from Gurkhaland movement ? In fact Gurkha land demand is older than Telangana movement.
