Visit any government hospital. You will know that the health care is poor. Wards are dirty and overcrowded. In some places you will see two patients lying in one bed. The rich are not there. They are in posh and expensive hospitals and nursing homes.
Visit any government school. The education is substandard. Classes are overcrowded. Teachers while away their time. The rich are in expensive English medium schools. It is there future engineers, doctors, economists, industrialists, policy makers are created.
The poor earn little, all or most of which is spent on food. They have no means to improve their lot. The chasm between the rich and the poor is widening in India. This kind of divide had been the fuel for violent revolution in many countries of the world.

Your post is a fact. There is no way to lessen this gap. It will take decades only when good government takes the centre.

This fact there is a chasm between the Haves and havenots is as old as the civilisation itself. This is the evil in the society often quoted by our politicians and social scientists. But precious little has been done to eliminate the evil

There are exceptions to all, Puri govt. hospital is one of two government hospital with ISO certification and believe me, when some one enters there, one can feel the real feeling of a private run hospital.

Without any exceptions all hospitals should run to cater to the needs of rich or poor alike. Only then the chasm could be narrowed.

Very true ! This only goes to show the pathetic condition of our government and people who are part of it.....They see to it that the poor stay poor and keep bringing them to power because they are illiterarte and dont think beyond basics which will be provided at the time of voting by the political goons...

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

It all depends on state govt. as health is the state subject, good health is the sign of a developing country and it all begins from hospital.

Health doesn't start from hospital. It starts from you. Because its your health. You should take care of it. If you fail, it's only then Hospital comes in to picture. But the subject is about the inadequacy in he health system Be it in the realm of state government or central government
In todays newspaper they have mentioned that India has the sixth highest number of billionaires and also more then 60% of the population is below thw poverty levels...So that is what the Congress has done all through its misrule !

We need not bother too much about wide gap between rich and poor. The gap does not matter as long as those at the lowest level are in decent human conditions. Stress should be on providing education and training to the poor and enable them to get gainful employment and sufficient income for decent living.

In todays world, money improves the quality of work. Hence the rich people can afford the best where poor people lacks. The gap between rich and poor is widening due to the government's poor policies specially during budgetary sessions. Poor budgets are passed which benefits only the rich corporate businessmen and politicians and not the general public.
