Though there is a ban on Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu, I'm reading from the media, that the ban is no way effective in the rural areas of Tamil Nadu. Akin to this, ban on cruelty towards animals in other states like AP , Karnataka, and Assam, continued as if there is no ban. What's the use of such ineffective bans ? In this regard, I must say, the respective state and Central governments are a failure in implementing, the all important ban.

When the apex court banned the traditional sport of the villagers of Tamil Nadu, people are in anger. Angry Jallikkattu supporters are going to boycott the upcoming election. All political parties in Tamil Nadu are in tension because they want the votes of people to win the election. The villagers gathered together and decided not to support the leaders of any political parties for canvassing votes in the election period and not to involve in political activities.

Because of this vote bank politics, India is not progressing with the right speed. Politicians have divided our communities on the basis of religion and caste. Our country now needs clean politics.

Politics and religion are totally different. I don't know why people are making political parties on the basis of religion. The great men who constructed different religions in the world were not politicians. So we need to take every steps to stop the formation of religious political parties. We want political parties and not religious political parties.

If the government give support to the people, it is not possible to avoid such evil practices from our country. Government never encourage such practices for getting more votes to win the elections.

For any welfare measure, both the government and the people should work together.People, Leaving everything to the Government and washing off their their hands in a democratic set up like India, is undesirable. It should be remembered strength lies in unity.

Now voters are being divided on basis of cow, bull, pig, goat etc. @rambabu thinks democratic set up is there in India!

Democracy was not there at one time. That was during the regime of Congress. During that period democracy was mocked, mutilated and raped. Now the government brought  Democracy back. Courtesy, BJP.

True, Britishers ruled over India for 100 years by divide and rule, same congress has followed for more than 60 years, but now the Indian public being more educated and aware has thrown away this party.

What convoluted logic is being spread. For love of one party you do not have to spread lies about another party which also was voted to power in exactly the same manner as was BJP. It is preposterous statements by @Rambabu.

Except for short spell of internal emergency proclaimed during Indira Gandhi's premiership, the Congress era cannot be considered as undemocratic. Even during emergency, Indira Gandhi did not divide people on basis of religion or caste  But the fascist Hindutva forces are now subverting democracy by attacking minorities as well as authors/ rationalists and lower castes. This is worse than short spell of internal emergency proclaimed during Indira Gandhi's rule.

Well said @Gulshanji. For some the sun of democracy has arisen in May 2014. Before that it was all darkness. How ungrateful can many be.
