In the fight between saving the bull and losing power, the politicians are naturally choosing to sacrifice the bull. Tamil Nadu CM or DMK chief do not have the guts to go against even repressive tradition  for fear of losing power. Even the Central govt has buckled for the same reason. So Jallikutu will go on.

Supreme court banned Jallikattu in Tamil nadu. People who took part in Jallikattu sustained serious injuries. Some were arrested too. But other such sports like cock fights, Goat fights and Bulbul fights went on. Politicians themselves took the lead and threatened the police of dire consequences, if they dare to stop these traditional sports.

But in Tamil Nadu, Anbil village in Trichi district celebrated the jallikattu festival on last Saturday with 65 bulls and 40 tamers and defied the Supreme Court ban. The nearest police station gave support to the villagers when they gathered in Mariamman Thidal for this event. They conducted jallikattu as per their tradition because it is a part of their Pongal festival and a spontaneous event.

May be. Jallikattu in remote areas bust have gone unnoticed. So are the cockfights and other such traditional sports elsewhere. But can you deny the fact that cruelty towards animals is justified ?

That is why I had suggested animals to be replaced by humans. Have you noticed how mercilessly the tail of the bull is pulled by the Tamils in Jallikattu . Now someone will tell us that the bull is tamed to not feel the pain.

Animals are also living things like human-beings. They also have pain like us. Never do such cruelty towards animals for our enjoyments. I am totally against using animals for sports and other activities. Time is up to stop such horrific and unacceptable festivities from the earth.

I agree.though the law has stopped Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu , no one cared about the ban. In other places, law implementors, simply looked the other side. Ban on cruelty towards animals, proved to be ineffective.

Supreme Court has refused to lift the ban. What will the BJP ans AIADMK do now, with elections round te corner the only issue was Jallikuttu, now which other issue will they raise?

When the apex court banned the traditional sport of the villagers of Tamil Nadu, people are in anger. Angry Jallikkattu supporters are going to boycott the upcoming election. All political parties in Tamil Nadu are in tension because they want the votes of people to win the election. The villagers gathered together and decided not to support the leaders of any political parties for canvassing votes in the election period and not to involve in political activities.

Because of this vote bank politics, India is not progressing with the right speed. Politicians have divided our communities on the basis of religion and caste. Our country now needs clean politics.
