No. You must know Gopichand Academy was there even before the bifurcation of the State. More than Telengana AP was famous for stalwarts like Pichchayya. And players are equally from AP and Telengana. Sports do not know Politics and there are no or regional feelings in the players.

What you said is absolutely true. Sports does not have political and regional boundaries. But my point here is that the politics are showering their rewards more for their personal gains and for their popularity.

Personal gain for whom ?  Both the heads of the States are interested in Promoting Badminton. CM of AP did not insist on Gopichand or Sindhu to establish a Badminton Academy only in AP.. Both the CMs wanted to  produce Badminton Players of World Class through the excellent  training system  of Gopichand to represent INDIA. Not for Telengana or AP.
