Adult sites should be banned. It is damaging the brain of the young stars. They are much addicted to watch it.

But what is the current status. Are these legal or banned?

Some sites that are legal have a disclaimer on the home page and the viewer is supposed to click on it, declaring whether he is 18+ or below! But I think that is not enough because most teenagers will surely click on tab I am above 18 and will easily access the content.

But this is position about foreign sites. Is it so for Indian sites also.

I am not very sure about it but since we know that pornography is not yet a legal thing in India,. we can safely assume as such sites being illegal. But there might be that some sights are legal because as far as I know there are a number of sites that require you to pay them using your credit card before you can access them and that would not be possible if they were not legal.

Like I said earlier in my post, banning is not a solution. The more you ban something, the more they become attractive to children. So they should be made inaccessible to children and there are a number of ways to do it.

I am not sure about Indian sites but since those are not blocked so there is no question of legal or illegal. There is no certificate issued as such.

Adult sites are not legal one. These sites must have some security to use. Many children who are not adult watch these sites which harms them a lot and throws bad impact in the minds of them.

I find that no member has answered the issue in the thread. The issue is not about desirability of porn or adult sites. This is about legality of such sites in India.

The position is very peculiar. There is nothing unlawful in possessing and viewing adult sites. So, you may lawfully view such sites at home.

But distribution of such materials is unlawful. In this connection, kindly see following links:

Banning is not a solution, to prevent children from watching such sites, there should be parental control. There are a number of good softwares containing firewall programmes that prevent children from accessing such sites. Every household with teenagers should install them on their computers!

This only can't prevent everything. Now everything is available through pen drives and mobile.
It can really affect a teenager a lot.

These are available. I have given some links. The legal position is that you can see these sites. But making and distributing these is unlawful.
