I condemn this dual face of people who claim Hindus are fundamentalists. This issue has to be dealt with seriously and see that this attitude is brought to an end once and for all
All communities- Hindus as well as Muslims- have fundamental right to observe their festivals and functions peacefully and without undue hinderance. What happened in J & K to amarnath pilgrims is really shocking and speaks volumes about failure of law and order machinery in J & K.
As regards fundamentalists, they are among Hindus as well as Muslims. Fundamentalism of any kid irrespective of community is worth condemnation. Let us hope that central government will take appropriate remdial measures in consultation with Govt. of J & K.

Yes. The concerned governmental mechanism should probe and see that this kind of incidents do not recur in order to create confidence in the Yatris.

True...but when Hindus show their pride in their own religion, which people of every other religion do, they are looked at with a suspicious eye! Whereas Muslims are truly fanatics to the core and are not at all tolerant about other religions. At least Hindus are tolerant of other religions, still they get tagged with labels such as fundamentalists, saffron terrorists! Etc. So why these double standards all the time! And one has to face the hard truth, that Hindu is the original and true religion of this country, all other religions came at a latter period with some being forced upon us! So let us not let our religion be humiliated and demeaned further!

All condemn fanatics and fundamentalists- whether Hindus or Muslims. There is no double standard. But the fact remains that the saffron brigade is more organized and agressiive.

Till there are fundamentalists in both religions organizations like RSS and Jamaite Islami will flourish because in times of crisis they save their coreligionists.

In fact, when there is danger to any community. nobody can be indifferent. I am of Hindu community. I wish that all should live amicably and in peace. But if there is risk to Hindu community life and property, I have no option but to side with my own community. I agree to this so far. But the issue with fundamental and communalist organizations is that they create and encourage communal hatred and riots.

Till there is equitable economic development where all sections of the population have a stake in maintaining peace so that fruits of prosperity can be enjoyed such fundamentalists and divisive forces will continue to enjoy a following. Modi has understood it but is leading a party which is trapped in its past and will not allow him a free hand. That is his challenge.
A procession of more than 50,000 was stopped bypolice force of Kanwar yatri going back after Jalabhishek on Friday (the Shivaratri day) and they were forced to stay on road because Jumma Namaj was going on. I don't say Namaj on Friday is wrong but couldn't both of these go together or Dr Manmohan was right when he said - "They have first right on India its wealth" .
Now be prepared for elimination or complete wipe out within next decade or so. They are leaving no chance to be aggressor like they did in Saharanpur yesterday.

What is that about Saharanpur??? and in a few years, Amarnath Yatra will be stopped totally while the govt. keeps doling out crores of rupees and guaranteed safety for Haj yatris! Call me Hindutvawadi if you like, I have no shame in admitting that because that is what I am, but isn't this grossly unfair! All these decades we have been hearing about their minority status been constantly harped while they have grown by leaps and bounds and have far surpassed many Hindu communities in numbers. Still they remain a minority, a mystery which needs to be solved!

You can only blame the Congress government for this , Even uttering a word against minorities is treated as a crime - Take for example how Hindu politicians visiting temples and speaking about Hindutwa are immediately termed as Fundamentalaists RSS and so on, the muslim leaders openly speak about the sanctity of their religion and our netas don their skull caps and host Iftar parties for them ...Noithing wrong in that but why the double standards ? The problem is some of the so called intellectual Hindus too have been brianwashed to the extent , that they think they are doing a great job by disowning their own religion and showing , what according to them is a very "Secular " front ! What people dont realise is that Hindusism is more a way of life than religion !

It seems like for this particular tribe of Hindus, slamming our own religion and culture and praising everything that THEY do, calling our people fundamentalists, saffron terrorists etc. is equal to being progressive!

Thats what they think....In Karnataka we have a writer who became controversial during the general elections because of some foolish cmments he made about Modi, is married to a Catholic lady.He criticises all state BJP leaders when they visit temples for any reason but religiously attends Church with his wife every Sunday. Is this not double standard ? Like he has the freedom to visit any place of worship others too have the same freedom ! This is supposed to be progressive or regressive one wonders ??

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

It is futile to think of a leader independent of his party. Some leaders like Paswan, Nitish Kumar etc. were trapped by Sangh pariwar as Vajpayee was projected as liberal and 'secular' and even described as 'good man in a bad party'. Modi is what BJP or RSS is and nothing else. so with any other individual. If you think in any other way, you will be deceived.
