Oh! Haven't see the post puzzle from Sajeethran..

Well done Meean... :) :)

Thanks 'n' Regards,
Deepti.
The famous profit and loss puzzle!you are a jewelry shop owner.

one day a customer comes in to buy a $70 ring. He only has a voucher worth $100. you do not have any cash around, so you go next door to the pastry shop and ask the owner to change the $100 voucher for cash. the pastry shop owner gives you the cash.

you go back to your shop and give the customer $30 in change along with the ring.

10 minutes later, the pastry shop owner comes in angry and tells you that the voucher is fake, and that he wants his $100 back. you apologize and give him the $100.

question: What is your total loss? (the ring indeed is $70)
Hmm ... This is a great loss...

The loss is the ring ($70), $30 given to pastry shop owner and $30 given as change to the customer.

Total of $170... :)

Thanks 'n' Regards,
Deepti.
You mean total of $200 loss? Not exactly deepti. Wrong answer..try again.
Ooo yeah --- I have edited my previous post... It is $170 loss... :) :)

Thanks 'n' Regards,
Deepti.
Still wrong answer,

Your calculations are right. But read the statements and give the answer. Hope you get right this time B) B)
100$ is correct
It is actually one of those simple-but-confusing puzzles. 200 might seem like the obvious answer, but 100 is the actual one.
How would you explain this Sajeetharan.. :)

The amount loss is $100 and the ring $70.. :)

Thanks 'n' Regards,
Deepti.
Explanation:

Incomes from Pastry shop -- $ 100
Outflows-- cost of ring given -- $ 70
refunded to customer -- $ 30
returned to pastry shopowner -- $ 100
Total outflows--$ 200

So Net loss: $100
Where is the ring??????

If you do business this way, you will definitely close the shop one day!!!!

Thanks 'n' Regards,
Deepti.
